Children at OI Playschool Banjara Hills
celebrated Raksha Bandhan on August 7th, to strengthen the bond of
love and foster the feeling of sharing and caring between brothers and
sisters. The excitement of the day could be seen on the faces of the
little ones, fancied up in traditional dresses.
The school was vividly decorated with colorful ribbons and cut-outs on this special occasion by our Oi Parents Varsha & Swathi Agarwal(Parents of Navya & Harsheel Agarwal), which added to the spirit of the day.
A special assembly was conducted by our parents (Varsha & Swathi) who told the students the significance of Raksha Bandhan where the sisters tie the auspicious Rakhi on the wrist of their brothers. A Puja Thali is prepared which comprises of the Rakhi, vermillion along with few grains of rice (for Tilak). Apart from this,a Ladoo is also included which is fed to the brother. Tying a Rakhi on brother’s wrist symbolizes that he will take care of his sister for the lifetime and also promise to protect her always. After which Our dear student Navya tied rakhi on Harsheel's wrist (Navya's Cousin) and gifts were exchanged thereafter.
The Rakhi day crafts included handmade Rakhi by our dear students which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall the day was fun filled.
